A. L. Sirois
Alert me when new A. L. Sirois titles are added

Bio: A.L. Sirois cites creative influences as diverse as Firesign Theatre, the Beatles, Pieter Brueghel, Mervyn Peake, H. G. Wells, and Frank Zappa. An artist as well as a writer (and rock drummer), he has done hundreds of illustrations, including drawings for Lullaby Angel, a children's book written by his wife, Paula, and for Penguin Island, a children's book of his own. Two of his short stories made the Top 25 in Eternity's Best of the Web '98 contest--more than any other author. The stories March 11 1936, 5:30 AM and As Bad As It Gets, originally published in Deep Outside SFFH, each received Nebula recommendations. His first novel was Blood Relations, and its sequel is Blind Ambitions. His collection The Beginnings of Forever (Clocktower Books) includes the Pushcart Prize-nominated story In the Conservatory, and other stories that have appeared in Amazing Stories and Isaac Asimov's Science Fiction Magazine. His two most recent books are a parapsychological thriller, Detonator (both published by Clocktower Books), and Boss Tweed's Dinosaurs, a Young Adult novel.

A.L. Sirois lives in Doylestown, PA with his wife Paula and daughter Kira. His son Daniel lives in New York City, where he attends NYU.

Al's career in the arts began in the 1970s, with a stint as assistant to well-known comic-book artist Wallace "Wally" Wood. Since then, Al has worked in many of the graphic arts, including rotogravure, book and magazine illustration, educational software, online advertising, CD production, and animation. Recently he has discovered a love for teaching, and conducts drawing, cartooning, and painting classes under the auspices of a number of local arts organizations. Al is becoming well known as a landscape painter in Bucks County, PA.

2 Working Quantum Consciousness [MultiFormat]
by A. L. Sirois
Immortality may yet be within reach. As a structural element in the new quantum mechanics view of intelligence and the universe, microtubules look like hexagonal lattices of the protein tubulin, arranged cylindrically. Through mechanisms not yet fully understood, these cylindrical lattices self-assemble, extending axons and dendrites and forming synaptic connections, which they then regulate and maintain. A. L. Sirois spells it all out for us in this informative and entertaining article. 2003
