Alan Gibson
Bio: Alan Gibson has studied martial arts for over 15 years attaining a Black Sash in Wing Chun in 1986. For the past 12 years he has been teaching Kung Fu and has also taught Women's Self Defence for Southampton Dept. of Adult Education. During this time he has frequently travelled to Hong Kong in order to train with Grand-master Ip Chun and other Wing Chun masters.
The Wing Chun Federation and its teachers are registered with the Yip Man Martial Arts Association in Hong Kong, and its teachers are personally endorsed by Grandmaster Ip Chun. Alan has also attained a degree in sports studies in order to further his understanding of the bio mechanical and psychological aspects of the art.
Alan Gibson formed the Wing Chun Federation in 1990, it is a non political organisation. The Federations objective is to teach Wing Chun in a relaxed and accessible manner, where emphasis is on good technique and personal development rather than violence and aggression. Wing Chun can be simply learnt by commitment and patience. A high level of proficiency can be obtained quickly and with ease. Wing Chun has a rich heritage,if you train diligently you will make it your own.
