Alert me when new Damon Knight titles are added

Bio: (1922-2002) Grandmaster of science fiction Damon Knight was born in 1922 and knew even as a boy that he'd be a writer some day. And what a writer. It would be difficult to find another individual who has influenced so many aspects of the science fiction genre. He has been an editor, an anthologist, a teacher at the most prominent writer's workshops (Milford, which he founded, and Clarion), he founded Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America and the Nebula awards. But above all, Damon Knight is a writer. His short story output has spanned five decades, and his work becomes richer and more powerful seemingly by the year. At Fictionwise, we have a selection of his early work as well as some recent stories, allowing you to trace his development. Damon Knight's work always includes richly drawn characters, interesting plots, and endings that are always satisfying and often surprising. [Photo by Richard Wilhelm.]

1 Backward, O Time [MultiFormat]

Mind-blowing concept of how life would be if time flowed backwards. This is not like the myth of Merlin, who could see the future because he moved backwards in time, but rather a different view of how things might be if everyone lived in a time-reversed world. (Published: 1956)

4 Rule Golden [MultiFormat]
by Damon Knight
As a newspaper publisher, Robert James Dahls found the news disconcerting; in fact, inexplicable. News items like two boxers simultaneously knocking each other out, prison guards sick and unable to guard the prisoners, policemen shooting fleeing culprits and collapsing themselves, battered wives with husbands suffering the same injuries that they inflicted. Dahl catches wind of a large experimental facility that is being led by the U.S. Department of Defense. His suspicions coincide with the str... more info>> (Published: 1954)

8 A for Anything: Former Title: The People Maker [Secure Mobipocket/Microsoft Reader/eReader (recommended)]
by Damon Knight
What would happen if someone invented a machine that could create an exact duplicate of anything? That is the simple but remarkable premise of Damon Knight's classic 1959 novel, A for Anything. "The Gismo," as the machine is known, seems like it will end poverty and need forever. But of course, things are not that simple. Like any truly great work of science fiction, Knight's novel boldly pursues the ramifications of his premise. What will people do if there is no longer any need to work for any... more info>>

9 A Likely Story [MultiFormat]

A meeting of science fiction writers leads to a night of fun, confusion, and an unlikely outcome.
