Mary Triola
 What's this?
Bio: Though a New Yorker by birth, Mary Triola has lived in Virginia for most of her life. She has written stories and poems since she learned how to read. For her, words have always contained a magical quality. Mary's love of words combined well with her talents as a musician. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Her majors were Spanish and music, with voice and harp as her instruments of choice.
A professional singer and harpist, she has performed at countless venues in the Fredericksburg area and in Northern Virginia. Mary is also a member of the Celtic Band, Moch Pryderi, where she is able to indulge in her peculiar passion for whistles, wooden flute and uilleann pipes. A closet piper for years she fondly remembers the day one of her children said "Mom, that sounded like a real song and not like you're sacrificing cats down there anymore!"
Mary is the author of the young adult fantasy, Merlin's Door, and the touching novel of mystery and compassion, Caroline Rose. Some of her short stories and poems appear in Midnight Oil, an anthology published by the Writers Club. A denizen of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Mary Triola lives with her husband, three teenagers, several birds, a rabbit, and an assortment of uninvited arachnids and chilopods.
