Robin Hobb
Bio: Robin Hobb lives and works in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, in Tacoma, Washington. Fantasy on a scale that is at once grand and yet intimate is her preferred area of storytelling and reading. Her own favorite writers include Steven Brust, George RR Martin, Rudyard Kipling, Louise Marley and Lynn Flewelling. She has been married to Fred Ogden for over thirty years, and they share four offspring. Her works include The Farseer Trilogy (Assassin's Apprentice, Royal Assassin, and Assassin's Quest), The Liveship Trader Trilogy (Ship of Magic, Mad Ship, Ship of Destiny), and The Tawny Man Trilogy (Fool's Errand, Golden Fool, and Fool's Fate). Her works have been translated into Dutch, French, Spanish, Russian, Hebrew, Chinese, Estonian, Turkish, Hungarian and Swedish. They have appeared on the London Times Top Ten bestseller lists. In 2003, she was awarded the Dutch Elf Fantasy Award for her novels. Robin Hobb has also written as Megan Lindholm. Her Lindholm short stories have been Nebula and Hugo finalists. Her novella, "A Touch of Lavender" was the winner of the 1989 Asimov's Readers' Award.
