What's this?

Bio: Described by Locus as "a writer not afraid to subvert the dogma of magic or plumb the depths of the human soul," Terry McGarry has been a street trader in Ireland, a bartender on Wall Street, and a Page O.K.'er at The New Yorker. Her debut fantasy novel, Illumination (Tor Books), was a featured alternate selection from the Science Fiction Book Club and was listed as one of Library Journal's five best SF/fantasy titles of 2001. Illumination will be followed by "The Binder's Road" and "Triad." McGarry's short fiction has appeared in more than three dozen magazines and anthologies, from Amazing Stories to Realms of Fantasy, and her poetry collection Imprinting was the winner of the 1998 Anamnesis Press Chapbook Competition. Her work has made the preliminary Stoker and NebulaŽ ballots, won three Boomerang Awards from the readers of Aboriginal SF, and made numerous Year's Best honorable-mentions lists in both SF and horror/fantasy. A professional copyeditor, she also plays traditional Irish music at gigs and pub sessions throughout the New York area.
