Timothy Jones
 What's this?
Bio: Tim Jones lives in Wellington, New Zealand, where he divides his time between writing, being a husband and father, and maintaining web sites for a living. He's been writing fiction since the late 1980s, and recently had his first collection of fiction, Extreme Weather Events, published by HeadworX Publishers in New Zealand. He's also a published poet. Tim Jones' stories span a range from science fiction, through horror, to literary fiction. 'I like to think that when I'm writing SF and horror, I focus as much on character as I would when I'm writing literary fiction; and when I'm writing literary fiction, I focus on the world around the characters as much as I do when I'm writing SF. Readers can form their own opinion!' Tim's work has been published in the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. 'Nothing in translation yet,' he notes. 'I speak some Russian, so maybe I should take the plunge and write a story in it.' Currently, he's working on a novel. 'I tried writing a couple of novels when I was younger, but the novels evaporated and left only a short story or two behind. This time, I've made sure that I have the structure of the novel well organised before I start.' Much of the novel is set in Antarctica, one of Tim's enduring interests. 'I grew up on stories of Robert Falcon Scott and Ernest Shackleton,' he says, 'and it's an interest that's never left me.'
