Tsunetomo Yamamoto
Alert me when new Tsunetomo Yamamoto titles are added

Bio: Yamamoto Tsunetomo(1659-1710), entered the service of Lord Mitsushige at the age of nine. Lord Mitsushige died in 1700, but Yamamoto was not allowed to follow him into death, as was his desire, because the practices of suppuku and junshi had been banned by the Tokugawa government some years before. The following year he was accepted into the Buddhist priesthood. Ten years later a young scribe, Tsuramoto, wrote down Yamamoto's thoughts on the Samurai life, which were published after his death as Hagakure.
