eBook Category: Horror
eBook Description: For one hundred years, The Devil's Graveyard has been a place of horror, gruesome murders, and terrible mutilations. For too long have the locals allowed this place to take their loved ones. But one murder too many causes action. The death of a teenager spurs his family and the local authorities into action. Armed with little more than myth and superstition, the time for a showdown is long overdue. Can loyalty, love and the indomitable human spirit overcome the evil that lurks and feeds among the graves? There are good things, bad things, and then there are cemetery things.

With one pull of the trigger, Scott was dead, his head torn away savagely and completely. Blake flinched and slapped at a searing slice of pain that erupted across his cheek. Buckshot. Bits of skull, shreds of flesh, and a storm of hot blood attacked the area, blanketing everything.

"Jesus frigging wept," Blake said, but could do nothing else. He was as deeply rooted into the ground as if his legs were encased in a ton of concrete.

"In," the man said again.

Blake swallowed and felt the tightness in his throat and the bile rising high. "P--Please."

"Don't beg, boy. It won't do no good."

Blake moved back, his eyes darting between the fallen body of his best friend and the evil bastard that held the gun. He wanted to think all this was nothing but a dream, a nightmare. But he knew better. The fear screaming in his head was real, as well as the biting cold in his bones, as was Scott's headless corpse.

When Blake was inside the gates of Autumn Ridge Cemetery the man stepped forward, picked up the lock, pushed the gate closed and secured it. When the lock clanked closed, Blake didn't know to be glad or worried. Apparently the man had no intention of following him into the graveyard, but the buckshot could easily find its way through the wide space between the wrought-iron bars.

So, he did the only thing he could--he turned and ran with the speed that only a teenage athlete could ever manage. He hoped to lose himself in the darkness before the man could manage to fire the shotgun. With each footfall he made, he kept expecting to hear the thunder of the shot, to feel the pellets tear into him, to slash into his body, his invite to join Scott.
