"Hello," she said.
Light sparkled in his eyes. They were green, and sad. Her heart skipped a beat. She had the urge to rush to him, to hug him, and tell him that it would be all right ... but she didn't. She allowed her anger to hold her in check.
Her hand came to her chest, and she touched the crucifix hanging there. The motion gave her a burst of inner strength. She hadn't been in this castle or in her husband's presence for ten years, yet she knew Symon was injured; she could read it in his eyes.
