Bio: For years, Jackie Kramer quietly dreamed of becoming a professional writer. Meanwhile, she went through the usual rites of passage. After graduation from high school and a stint in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, she married and raised two sons. Along the way, she became a registered nurse and has worked in pediatrics for over 25 years. She fell in love with books at the age of three and read her entire school library by the fourth grade. Not content with all the wonderful stories she read, Jackie started making up her own science fiction stories in her head. She never had the nerve to set them down on paper until she joined Star Trek fandom in the early 1970's. Then she not only wrote and had published 31 ST short stories, but published her own fanzine, SOL PLUS, a ST/SF anthology that featured fan and professional authors. In the mid- 1990's, she decided to "go legit" as a professional writer and switched to romance. Her first book, BABY BONUS, under the pen name of Amanda Kramer with Silhouette Desire, hit the USA Today Bestsellers list in May, 1996. Her second novel, BROKEN PLEDGE with Hard Shell Word Factory marked Jackie's entry into the wonderful world of eBooks and was selected as a finalist in the 1999 Booksellers' Best Award. Among her other releases from HSWF are her third contemporary novel, COMING TO TERMS, and THE BRIDE-SEEKER, a time-travel novella which appeared in MILLENIUM MAGIC, was selected as a finalist in the 2000 Sapphire Award for best SF romance short story. Her latest release, WARRIOR'S HEART, from Five Star Expressions was awarded the 2006 HOLT Medallion for Best Short Contemporary Romance novel. 2004 saw Jackie return to a past love...the short story. LEARNING CURVE, her first science fiction short story since the late 1980's, was published in BEYOND THE MUNDANE: FLIGHTS OF MIND. Soon to be published by Mundania Press is MARRIAGE RITE, a Neolithic Horror story that is her first foray into the world of horror. At present, Jackie is working on a paranormal romance novel and several more SF/Horror short stories.
