A Horse To Die For [MultiFormat]
by Carolyn Banks

Who's beating a dead horse? Certainly not die-hard horse aficionado Robin Vaughan. She would never lay a hand on any four-legged creature, least of all the magnificent horse her friend Lola had just received as a Christmas gift. But Robin suspects that beautiful Noel isn't quite the horse he seems. For one thing, he killed his last owner. For another, he bears an uncanny resemblance to a horse called Wickie, who haunts Robin's past and whom she knows to be dead. In fact, she'd swear that Noel is... more info>> (Published: 2006)

Nobody much cares for Nika Ballinger, but that doesn't mean her violent death shouldn't be looked into. Fellow horsewoman Robin Vaughan doesn't like the way the police investigation is going. In the perfect world of competitive dressage, Nika rode like a piece of luggage. So who arranged to have a horse kick her to death? Bead, Texas, is a dead end... Little white houses, the yard-of-the-week competition, new hanging files in the insurance company--that's about it for Bead. Not even the hit-and-run death of the editor of the Bead Weekly rouses this Texas backwater from its torpor. But nosy newcomer Robin Vaughan, hunting for a place to board her two cherished horses, sniffs trouble in this tumbleweed paradise. Groomed for Death [MultiFormat]
by Carolyn Banks

Texas horsewoman Robin Vaughan is surprised to find herself flat on the sidewalk the first time she leaves her hotel. More surprising is the young woman who picks her up. In her black fishnet stockings, Flora looks more like a hooker than someone who gets up at five A.M. to feed the horses at an uptown riding stable. She may in fact be a hooker, for when Jeet, Robin's nervous husband, calls Claremont Riding Academy to confirm her identity, nobody there has heard of her. But is the staff at Clare... more info>> (Published: 2005)

While her food critic husband, Jeet, checks out San Miguel's cuisine, equestrienne Robin Vaughan heads for the country to interview a famed dressage master. But Hans Bell is nastily uncooperative, his elegant horses are nervous, and the interview is a flop. So's an encounter with an old Texas friend, Marilee Hart, who's sitting pretty on a wonderful ranch called Milagro--"Miracle." Marilee is not friendly and, like Bell's horses, she's terribly nervous. And before long, she's dead. Who fired the... more info>> (Published: 2004)
