Barri L. Bumgarner
Bio: Barri L. Bumgarner freelances for Crescendo, School & Community, SomethingBetter, CoMo, and Family magazines. She received the Missouri Writers? Guild Best Education Article in 2005, and Writer?s Digest 72nd Annual Writing Competition honors in 2003. Her short fiction has appeared in RockSprings Review and Well-Versed, and is featured in Mysteries of the Ozarks, Vol. II, in October 2005. Her young adult novel, Dregs, was adapted as a staged reading and the script was entered in the Kennedy Youth Film Festival in the Fall of 2005. Ms. Bumgarner divides her time between writing, editing, and her graduate assistantship at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She lives in Columbia, Missouri, and is at work on several projects, including Playing the Line, the prequel to 8 Days, and the trade paper version of Dregs, both scheduled to be published in the first quarter of 2007.
