Glenn L. Gillette
Bio: In the early '70s, Analog published two of my short stories under the pen-name Glenn L. Gillette; another appeared in Lone Star Universe, a hardcover anthology; this last story is now available on-line here at fictionwise. At that time, choosing family over free-lancing, I turned to technical writing and parlayed that into a successful career in the computer industry. After 15 years working at Digital Equipment Corporation, I caught a tsunami of downsizing that left me standing on the shore of a new life. With the support and financial wizardry of my wife Jeanne, I tackled fiction again using the pen-name Glenn Lewis Gillette. In fact, together we wrote two mainstream novels (which haven't sold yet). Now, after several intense years of adapting my writing skills, I am tackling a wider range of genres. The Jewish Spectator published one of my short stories, its first & only (so far) science-fiction story. Speculations, a writers' magazine focused on the science-fiction and fantasy genres, published my article on "Writing Good Computer."
I also develop business software and consult part-time in web-site design-and-development thru my web-site www.warefore.com. I actively market my short and long fiction on my web-site www.glgwrites.com, including my business-oriented SF novel Seeds of Disaster. My mainstream short-short story "Downstream from Divorce" will be appearing at www.flashfictiononline.com in March, 2008. I also belong to SFWA as an associate member (the "Lone Star Universe" doesn't count toward full membership, alas) and moderate their Online-Update and SFWA-News newsletters.
