Jason Alan Cole
Bio: Born in 1969 at UCLA, Jason Alan Cole lived on the canals of Venice, California, for the first five years of his life, later moving briefly in Hermosa Beach then San Diego when his parents divorced. After a forced stay in a mental hospital, he finally made it back to his hometown of Venice in his early teens, where he became active in the thriving hardcore punk rock scene of Los Angeles. He had finally found his people.
He attended Phoenix High (the continuation school for students who didn?t fit in at Venice High) for a little more than a year, where he wrote for the school newspaper regularly on subjects like politics, nuclear disarmament and teen homelessness. At sixteen he dropped out and left home for the streets of Hollywood and beyond. After dozens of crappy jobs and countless struggles to make a life for himself as a young man he got into telecommunications and computer networking by luck and was able to pick himself up by the bootstraps and get a semblance of normality in his daily existence.
No matter what was happening at any given time in my life, he was always writing in small journals, on the back of concert flyers and the like. Poetry, short stories and songs. He begged someone to buy him a typewriter in his early twenties and started banging out stories and hasn?t stopped since, although now he uses a computer.
