Daniel Marcus
Bio: Daniel Marcus has published over twenty short stories in national magazines and anthologies. He has been a finalist for the John W. Campbell Award and the Pushcart Prize, his non-fiction has appeared in Wired, the San Francisco Chronicle, and elsewhere, and he has taught in the creative writing program at the U.C. Berkeley Extension. He has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from U.C. Berkeley and has worked as an applied mathematician for the Lawrence Livermore and Lawrence Berkeley Labs. Currently, he is a software architect in Silicon Valley; among the technologies that interest him are speech recognition, digital interactive television, and digital rights management. He lives in Berkeley with his wife and son, and is currently working on a new novel.
