Gwyn Lacy

Bio: I have overcome a lot of obstacles in my life. I suffered extreme abuse and both my biological parents were felons and served prison time, so I spent a good portion of my life in foster care and as a runaway. Books were my refuge. The concept that if you needed to do something, someone had done it before--and wrote about it --and I could find the answer in a book--helped me learn how to solve problems and pointed me down a better path. My first "published" book was in first or second grade. I stole books from the library and felt guilty so decided I would write ones to compensate for what I had taken. I had an angel for a librarian and I wish I knew her name because she saved my mind and my life. I brought her my first story about a fairy captured under a glass and she put a real cover on it and a library card on the inside and put it on the shelf. I started to believe in hope and my dream started taking form. Of course I had to bring the books back, but she let me keep some. I had long journey to get where I am today and where I hope to go. The odds of a foster child finishing high school in the 1980's were in the very low percent. And at 18, you were on your own. I had no family at that time, but I had my book friends. I got was married young and got my GED at 19. Before the I was twenty-three, I had four little girls. I was determined they would not have my life-- And probably went overboard on education, but they are all college graduates or attending college presently. I went back to school as a single mom and got my LPN and now am attending college to get my RN. I have 6 classes to go. My first book has been accepted for publication by DCL LLC and will be released soon. I am polishing two others for the trilogy. My girls are all grown now and I finally can focus on my true love writing. I hope you enjoy my work and God bless
