Bio: Jina Bacarr is a multifaceted writer who has written forty scripts (live action and animation) for television as well as business books on working for Japanese companies (How to Work for a Japanese Boss and How to Succeed in a Japanese Company). She has also written articles for Cosmopolitan, Orange Coast Magazine, Orange County Register, Travelers Tales, Guest Informant, The Learning Game, La Jolla Magazine, and she was a columnist for Micro-Times ("Sweet Savage Byte"). She has worked as a Japanese consultant for KCBS-TV Los Angeles and MSNBC. She has also appeared as a business consultant, drug abuse expert, and Japanese sex expert on cable, local and national TV, and on major radio networks. She is currently the "Lifestyles Editor" on The Tony Trupiano Show (syndicated radio program), doing a weekly segment on various topics. She was a commercial spokesperson for a major Japanese food company and she's appeared in a daytime soap opera and on stage in several theatrical productions. She also served with the U.S. Army Special Services in Europe. She is the creator, writer, and artist for www.SuzyIQ.com, a 2002 PRISM Certificate of Merit Award winner for her website for teen girls dealing with EDs (eating disorders) and drug abuse. She is also a playwright. Her play, "Crystal Girl" (about a Prom Queen wannabe who sells her soul to the devil [crystal meth] to get thin) was produced at the Malibu Stage Co. Theatre in Malibu, CA. She was the 2001 First Place Winner in the YA category in the Authorlink contest for her teen drug abuse book, CHIVA. She has studied the Japanese language and culture (e.g. the art of kimono) for many years. She also speaks French, German, Italian, and Spanish. She is a graduate of the University of California at Irvine.
