The place was packed with high-placed, influential people, all dressed in formal black-and-white attire. The women in black or white satin, chiffon and lace, the men in tailored formal tuxedos consisting, for the most part, of black tails and white stand-up collared shirts, white gloves--similar to what he and Micah wore, except those the other men wore were certainly not borrowed attire.
The only attendees dressed in a myriad sea of bright colors were chattel.
Entreus saw a shock of sensuality on the other side of the room, vivid crimson amongst the ocean of stark black and white. Unadorned long, silver hair set her above and apart from the rest of the women and chattel in the room. The flashing wide white-and-black diamond choker sheathing her neck vividly proclaimed her name in rubies. "Silver."
In one moment of clarity, Entreus saw his destiny laid out before him. Perhaps he now understood at least a glimmer of Micah's strange prophecy. He saw the trinex--a part of honing that destiny to a fine edge.
He made his way closer, studying her as he circuited the room, Micah at his side. Shiny black-heeled boots shod her feet; black-and-white pinstriped tight pants outlined her manhood, caressed her curvy, long legs; a tight scarlet lace corset, vivid beneath the sheer white lace shirt, emphasized her lovely feminine breasts.
Bow-shaped silvered lips gleamed wetly, and silver-pupiled intelligent eyes saw everything in the room. She sipped champagne from a fluted crystal glass she held in a silver mechanized hand with long, sensual fingers. Her wide-legged stance was all male; her voluptuous upper body, long hair, delicate expression--very much female. Such a seamless mating of genders and machinery. The term humanotic trinex took on new meaning for him. Entreus found himself trying to imagine what passions lay beneath the layers of enticing clothing.
"I can see why he keeps her close," he murmured to Micah as he drew nearer to the intriguing trinex. "She is assuredly one of a kind."
"Highly prized and well-guarded, I'm told," Micah said.
"Yes, I can see that," Entreus responded, his gaze fixed with fascination on the trinex.
Entreus noted several men surrounding her with the sharp-eyed awareness of regulators rather than attendees. "It won't be easy to get close to her and discover her loyalties." He couldn't seem to take his eyes off her. She licked her lips, and his cock surged, pressing hard against the sophisticated lines of his elegant black silk trousers. What he wouldn't give to sample her for just one evening. He'd never been with a blended human, let alone one that combined with such symmetry the natures of male, female and robotic. But this charismatic trinex bled sexuality from every pore.
Entreus felt the heat of Micah's attention burning into him. He finally ripped his gaze away from the alluring trinex to focus on his friend. No photograph could ever do justice to a creature such as the one displayed on the other side of the room.
"You want her," Micah said, a tinge of what sounded like jealousy attached to his tone. "And I don't mean strictly as an asset."
"To want anything else would be suicide. There's no way for us to know what he's done to her mind, how that may have been altered as much as her appearance." Entreus tried to keep his tone from exposing how sexually aroused he was by the trinex. As interested as he was in exploring Kesselbaum's property on a baser level, hurting Micah didn't set easily in his mind. And he had a feeling that knowing the full extent of how affected Entreus was by the trinex would cause Micah injury in some way. Entreus had to keep reminding himself Micah wasn't Orictian. Micah was completely human, and thus subject to a complex set of emotions.
"Tweed says the minister has been very, very specific. No alterations have been attempted on her brain. No experimentation in that regard." Micah stared at Entreus, his gaze alert and searching. Entreus felt Micah was trying to reach inside him to expose his thoughts.
"I see." Entreus turned away to study the trinex, thereby also closing himself off from Micah's unsettling examination. He tried to center his mind on the task at hand. His interest piqued as the regulators dressed in gray uniform parted. A striking blond-haired man walked up to the trinex and placed a possessive hand around her miniscule waist. Entreus recognized him from newspaper photographs as Upper Minister Kesselbaum. As Entreus watched, the minister tipped Silver's head so she was gazing up at him, her neck stretched taut. Something in her appearance changed. At first remote and untouchable, as Kesselbaum slid a possessive hand down across her breasts, sliding over her ribs to cup the bulge at the front of her tight pants, her expression altered.
Entreus saw her gaze widen and then turn luminous, the heavy sexuality imprinted upon her features. Rosy color bled across her creamy shoulders, rising up her neck to flood her face. A visible shudder passed through her. There was something in that posture, something that now visibly bound owner and chattel together. Her body seemed to liquefy, to yield, bowing toward him. Kesselbaum lowered his head until their lips were almost touching.
Even from a distance, Entreus could feel the trinex's arousal, her surrender to the minister. Her wet, silver lips were captured by the minister's, claimed for long, arousing moments as he bent her to him. She dropped the champagne glass and it shattered on the marble floor as Kesselbaum manacled her hands behind her back with his own. Her shoulders stretched taught, her back bowed, clothing glued to her flesh giving clear evidence of her desire. It seemed every eye in the room was fastened on the passionate pair, breaths held as the kiss deepened, drawn out for long, heart-stopping moments.
Slowly, the minister released her. Silver staggered back a step and then righted herself. Kesselbaum spun around and walked away without looking back. He joined a group of men in conversation on the other side of the room.
Entreus watched Silver. Her hungry gaze was locked upon her owner. Lips puffy, cock bulging against the tight press of her silken striped trousers, even more prominently displayed than it had been before. The visage of her was so sexualized, so beautifully gender blended, that it almost drove Entreus to his knees.
It was not hate Entreus saw in her expression, in every line of her body. Kesselbaum obviously knew just how to handle his chattel.
Entreus had to wonder if there was any possible hope of turning her. Obviously, the ties binding her to Kesselbaum were strong.
"We tread a dangerous path trying to turn this one," he finally said to Micah.
As he watched, Micah first scrutinized the trinex, then turned to Entreus. "She's passionate, highly sexualized. And yet appears quite intelligent. You'll have to seduce her. Make her see the right of our cause." Micah's tone and countenance appeared nonjudgmental. But Entreus was not reassured by the facade. In fact, it made him uneasy.
"It may take time and ingenuity to breach Kesselbaum's safeguards around her," Entreus said.
"Of anyone, you are the one to do it, Entreus."
Entreus regarded Micah, trying to peer into the very heartcore of the man who was not just his second-in-command, but his friend...and his lover. "Are you certain you want me to do this?"
Infinitesimally, Micah straightened to his full height. His gaze bored into Entreus. "The cause comes first, always. We all use what we must to further our purposes." Entreus heard some odd inflection in his tone, saw a flicker of something indefinable in his eyes, and then it was gone. And for the first time, Entreus wondered if Micah used him and their more intimate relationship to further his own, more personal goals. Perhaps Entreus had entirely misread Micah's motives. Entreus should have considered that before, but he'd always simply assumed they were united by a common cause. Assuming was something he never would have done in his position as general of the armed guard in his own dimension. He had softened, become less vigilant than he should be. Perhaps his time bound to the Core had something to do with his relaxed vigilance.
Suddenly, he considered his relationship with Micah and what double meaning might be attached to many of the man's actions. He closed himself off, now wary of the relationship with his fully human lover. He might need to reconsider the intimacies they shared. Perhaps Micah was more like an Orictian than Entreus had first thought.
Entreus nodded. "So be it," he said in relation to their discussion of the trinex. "We'll need to acquire the plans to the minister's house. That's how I'll make first contact. Through itambulae sporitus."
