Gambling On Maybe [MultiFormat]
eBook by Fae Sutherland

eBook Category: Erotica/Gay-Lesbian Erotica/Gay Fiction
eBook Description: When Phoenix police officer Stephen Miranda offers tipsy Zachary West a ride home one Friday night, he's just doing his job. He doesn't expect to unleash a glittery whirlwind on his orderly, very homogenized life. From minute one, Zach is like nothing Stephen's ever known and like everything he's secretly craved.

Zach doesn't hide who he is for anyone's comfort, even his own, but for a chance at a man like Stephen, he'd be willing to be an "undercover lover." But while Stephen lusts after the vibrant man, hooking up with a guy who's never used his "closet" for anything but fashion isn't going to do his straight-acting routine any favors.

The sex is sizzling, no doubt, but Stephen wonders if there's more to his relationship with Zach that's worth gambling on...

Great Good OK Poor

"4.5 Stars!...A really fun book...Zach was the hottest twink this side of anywhere and he had no problem trading on his assets. He was well drawn with all the right touches, but not over the top. He and Stephen were a match made wherever the best matches are made, and the dialogue and prose were Fae Sutherland at her best. The author did a great job on her two protagonists who were polar opposites but well matched, and the chemistry between them was steamy. The supporting characters, especially Zach's best friend, were just as three dimensional and I thought that the story, although short, was great. Definitely recommended if you like fun stories with terrific characters who seem made for each other. I hope that Fae will write a sequel because I really don't want to let Zach and his Officer Hotness go."--Wave, Reviews By Jessewave

"B-Plus Rating!...A wonderful short little read...Zach is exactly the kind of character I love. He's sparkly and optimistic and proud of who he is and has no regrets...When you need a smile in your day, this is the perfect short read to lift your spirits."--Tam, Brief Encounters Reviews

"5 Hearts!...A fun, light-hearted read...The characters of Stephen and Zach are complete opposites yet work together. I like how Zach makes no excuses for who he is. But he also, I believe the word used was glittery, makes the story lighter and brighter. His character is funny and sweet and not so in-your-face. Stephen is more serious and the perfect counterpart for Zach. There is some hot M/M sex, but it suits the characters and fits with the story. The author did a great job in telling Stephen and Zach story. Like I said this story is fun read and I think will bring a smile to your face."--Ana, The Romance Studio

"...A wonderfully witty, quirky love story with an ending so tender that it almost made me cry. When I read the blurb, it sounded like a story which would appeal to me and I wasn't disappointed. It left me with more contentment than I had anticipated. When you need a dose of feel-good, I heartily recommend reading Gambling On Maybe."--Lena Grey, Queer Magazine Online

Zach didn't pay much attention to the double takes and outright stares shot his way as he strode confidently up the steps to the 12th Precinct police station and through the doors. In one hand was a bright pink plastic container and in the other was his very favorite Balenciaga satchel in signature sea foam green. Okay, so not only was it his favorite, it was also his only. It'd cost him nearly two months rent, but oh so worth it.

Now, where to find his knight in not-so-shiny armor? He paused in front of the first desk he saw and gave the woman behind it a beaming smile. "I'm looking for Stephen Miranda?"

The only change in her expression was the subtle lift of one brow.

Undeterred, Zach shrugged, still smiling brightly. "That's okay. I'll find him myself!" He turned to traipse off.

The desk officer must have had visions of him twirling through the station leaving glitter in his wake and who would clean that up? Because she huffed a sigh and held up a hand.

"Hold on there, twinkledee. Second floor, ask for Sergeant Miranda at the desk."

Zach's eyes widened. "Oooh, sergeant is it? Thank you!" He saw her roll her eyes as he hurried off, but he didn't see any point in letting other peoples' negative attitudes affect his own. So he waved cheerfully over his shoulder as he stepped onto the elevator.

It wasn't that Zach didn't know what people thought of him. It was that he didn't care. He didn't imagine they lost any sleep at night worrying what the silly little fag in the fabulous Dolce scarf thought of them. Why be something he didn't like just to make people he didn't know comfortable?

Besides, who couldn't use more glittery goodness in their lives?

Speaking of someone in desperate need of some sparkleE Zach spotted his Officer Hotness standing by a desk with his back to Zach and, ugh, his aura just spoke of not nearly enough shiny people sharing their happy with him. Well, that was about to change!
