The sun burst across the Kiorannan plains in colors that pulled a gasp from Mikial's lips. It appeared as if the entire sky had spread itself apart in presentation of a dawn like none other before it. An exultation of Creation Itself. Field hawks gave voice, and the tall grass bowed in reverence to the majestic opalescent orb. "Beautiful," she cried out in disbelief, tears flooding her eyes. "Everyone look...so beautiful!" She glanced around. "Where are you? Why can't you see this? Please! Someone see this with me!" Desperate, she lurched to her feet, or tried to. Mikial looked to her arms and legs, and found them fused to a great black throne.
