Before she could say another word, he pulled her to him and kissed her. This wasn't the gentle kiss he had given her earlier, but a possessive kiss. It wasn't rough in anyway, but she felt as if he were branding himself deep into her soul, as if he could replace all of her bad memories with memories of him, with memories of soft caresses, crooked smiles, and sparkling blue eyes. He smelled and tasted so good, and she wished she could lose herself in the moment.
Would it be so wrong for her to take this moment of pleasure for herself, take what he offered her? It had been a long time since she'd felt desired, cherished, and Mac made her feel that way. Before she could talk herself out of what she was about to do, she laced her fingers behind his neck and pulled him closer, opening her mouth so he could deepen the kiss.
His mouth was hot and tasted of everything forbidden, everything she'd longed for with a man, safety, comfort, dark, steamy nights in her lover's arms. His tongue dipped and retreated and so lost was she in the kiss, she barely noticed when he slid her under him on the seat. His hard body came down on her, and his mouth slanted to deepen the kiss even further. He devoured her, demanded everything, but gave everything he demanded in two-fold in return.
This felt right. It didn't feel terrifying or suffocating like it had with Barry. Being with Mac was a perfect blend of comfort and desire that intermingled until smoldering heat burned deep in her bones, deep in all of her cells, until every part of her reached out in need for the one man who could fulfill her needs, the one man who could ease the throbbing ache burning between her thighs ... Mac.
Her whole body caught fire and demanded more, and though she knew he was holding back, waiting for a sign from her that she wanted to take things further, respecting her feelings, she wished he'd touch her. She should slow things down, but she didn't want to. She began exploring his shoulders and back with her hands, and sighed as her fingers ran over hard, perfectly sculpted muscles. She could no longer think straight, her mind so clouded with emotion. She yanked at his shirt until it was freed from the waistband of his jeans, and gasped as her fingers slid over hot skin with no barrier of clothing this time.
Mac groaned. "Your hands feel so good on me, darlin'. Can you feel? My skin is on fire because of you."
She moaned in response.
He framed her face, dipped his tongue, then peered down at her with an intensity that made her belly flutter.
