"In order to save her foster father, Aelfrida must give up her blood oath, but she doesn't intend to give up her heart. While Aelfrida's heart is conflicted, her body is not, responding with passion to Tryffin's ministrations. For Tryffin, although he has Aelfrida's passion, he continues to feel guilt over his coercion of her into marriage. He offers to release her, but Aelfrida declines, knowing from her conversations with Lamm that the Fox Prince is her destiny. Ms. Amiri has written a charming tale, with equal doses of intrigue and romance. The wisdom of the Druids and the forest, as well as the love of her Celtic Prince, all join forces to convince Aelfrida that her heart, as well as her destiny, lie with the Fox Prince."--Debbie Pollart, RCRG Reviews for AOL

She turned toward the bed and gasped in awe for it was strewn with roses.
"Nesta picked them for us," he said hoarsely. She strode to the large chest and picked up a silver bowl. She sat down on the bed and grabbed a long stem rose. Her slender fingers delicately peeled off a single petal. She let go. The red petal fluttered into the silver bowl. She cocked her head, her long shimmering hair rippled down her soft white arm. Gently, she plucked another red petal; it floated into the delicate bowl. Intimately touching only one petal at a time Aelfrida plucked every rose. After filling the bowl with a bounty of lush petals, she leaned down and deeply breathed in the arousing fragrance. Lightly Tryffin fingered the loose stems, lifted them off the bed, and tossed them out the small, high window. He turned toward Aelfrida. She stood before a large tub filled with clear water. Clutching the bowl she turned it over. Petals fluttered through the air and floated onto the rippling water. She gazed down at red petals drifting together. Breathlessly, she rose to her feet. She peeled off her blue shift with a lazy, seductiveness.
