Yesterday's Promise [MultiFormat]
eBook by Eden Robins
eBook Category: Romance
eBook Description: Teaching at a school for homeless children is Christine Hart's way to satisfy her inherent need to help others. It also keeps her busy enough to maintain the physical and emotional wall she has built around herself since ending her violent relationship with her ex-boyfriend, Sean. But when he suddenly enters the picture again, threatening to resume his abuse, Christine jumps at the chance to escape on a seven-day vacation at the Monk's Inn in St. Augustine, Florida, never expecting to meet a sexy ghost who insists he knows her, and desperately needs her help. Alejandro Martinez Garcia may be a two hundred year old ghost, but he is nobody's fool. When Christine comes to stay at the inn where he has been imprisoned since his death, he immediately recognizes her as Christina Hoskins, the woman he once loved, and was betrayed by so long ago. Although he needs Christine's help to find the missing deed that will save his descendant's inn, Alejandro also wants revenge. Yet once he realizes that he can actually touch Christine, when he has been unable to put his hands on any living being without passing through since his death, he finds it difficult to concentrate on vengeance. As Christine and Alejandro struggle to unravel the mystery of the missing deed, neither counts on the promise they made to each other a lifetime ago, nor the evil force determined to keep them apart. Will their love be strong enough to overcome even death this time around?

She was about to speak again, when an arm snaked around her waist and she was pulled back against a very solid body. His breathing was heavy and she could feel his body tense with restraint. She didn't need to look back to know it was Alejandro. His hand firmly grasped her chin and forced her to tilt her head back and look at him. His hand slid down slightly so that it rested on her throat. His touch was gentle, yet firm enough to keep her in place. Her pulse was racing and she was sure he could feel it beating beneath his fingers. "Do not ever question my honor again, Christina," Alejandro hissed close to her ear. "I am not like your Sean, who has no honor and is a coward. And make no mistake about it. I am real and I am a man..."
