The Accidental Gardener [Secure eReader]
eBook by Michael Powell
eBook Category: General Nonfiction/Humor
eBook Description: This book is for the inept armchair gardeners everywhere. Month by month, it gently guides the reader through the seasons, showing what are weeds and what are not (even if the weeds are pretty), how to dig holes, and how to squish unwanted insects. You too can create a tranquil haven in your own backyard that you'll be too exhausted to appreciate. Michael Powell is a big fan of Diarmuid Gavin who first introduced him to the subtleties of concrete. He lives in an NCP car park in Somerset with his wife and two small bollards.

The days are short and the nights can be very chilly. For wildlife, the need to find food means that even the most timid birds and mammals are active and those that are normally nocturnal may venture out in daylight if the weather gets really bleak. This makes it an ideal time to down the bottle of Stag's Breath that was left over from New Year's Eve and spend the misty afternoons sitting in your greenhouse taking pot shots at badgers and hedgehogs.
