"Sinner's Song takes readers to a places most have never gone: on the streets with the homeless, behind the scenes of a shelter, and in the mind of a serial killer who believes he's delivering his victims from a fate worse than death."--Susan McBride, author of the Debutante Dropout Mysteries

"Evil stalks the streets in this gripping tale about the homeless and someone who has a murderous solution to clean up the town."--Nancy J. Cohen, author of The Bad Hair Day Mysteries

Friday evening the sky was clear and the stars twinkled brilliantly from the somber setting of night. A full moon hung over the city like a silent warning of things to come. Citizens remarked on its beauty yet didn't understand that the reddish hue was actually a beacon heralding death.

The Deliverer understood its message but set about his lethal mission in defiance of its duty as an omen to a city whose fate lay in his hands.

He waited until he felt prompted to bestow his life-changing gift. When the call came, he followed the chosen one down an alley, out of the sight of prying eyes. When he summoned the one who had been designated, for a moment, it seemed that he might try to run from his destiny. But when the Deliverer explained he had a gift for him, need overcame fear, and the chosen one walked to him as a willing and eager participant in his own demise.

As the Deliverer presented his deadly offering, he asked the question that preceded every delivery. Softly he said, as God filled him with the rapture and fulfillment only those who are called and anointed ever feel, "Son, do you know where you'd go if you died tonight?"

The one being delivered had no way to know that in a little while he would know beyond any doubt the unalterable answer to this profound and everlasting question.

The moon and the stars watched in muted horror as their prophecy was fulfilled.
