Daemon was sitting at his desk in the dark. He was staring at the wall with his eyes open, unblinking. A single name whispered through his mind, "Megan." His eyes closed, searching her out through his inner mind. Finding her alone in the dark, sleeping, Daemon blinked his eyes open and sighed. Resting his hands on the desk he clenched and unclenched them. He stood then and walked out of the office and up the stairs to his apartment above the bar. Tugging the shirt over his head, he threw it on the floor. His fingers went to the fly of his jeans and unbuttoned them. He pushed the jeans down over his lean hips and legs. Slipping into his bed, Daemon placed his arms under his head to stare up at the ceiling. "Megan," he whispered her name in the darkness of the bedroom. His vision blurred while he was inhaling and exhaling deep even breaths. His eyes closed as he slipped into a deep sleep. Visions of the rose petal island entered his mind. Walking down the rose petaled path toward where Megan was waiting for him. Fog swirled around them when he slowly made his way toward her. He stood before her, with his hand out. Megan stared down at his hand then into his face. Her breath held in her throat before placing her hand in his. "Megan." He spoke her name with a deep, husky voice causing a shiver to dance down her spine. "Daemon." She whispered his name, her brown eyes holding his green ones. Daemon pulled her closer to him, holding her gaze as he lowered his lips to hers. His lips brushed softly over hers while her breath whooshed between her lips. A soft chant was spoken and their clothes vanished from their bodies. He slipped his arms around her waist. His fingers swept down her bare back, feeling the softness of her skin under his fingertips. Megan opened her mouth to his hard, demanding lips. A soft moan escaped her lips when Daemon lifted her into his arms, lying her down onto a bed of rose petals. The sound of birds singing as they flew high into the lavender sky, mating with each other. A sound of waves crashing below the cliff drowned out their soft cries of passion when Daemon joined them with their bodies as well as in sprit. "We'll join our hearts, as well as our thoughts and feelings. We'll join as one until only death will part us." Daemon spoke softly into her ear then began to thrust in and out of her hot damp sheath. A white light surrounded their bodies then burst around them. Daemon continued to thrust his hips against her damp core. He muffled her soft cries with his deep kisses, taking them deep into his being. Sweat coated his back as his body grew stiff, spilling himself deep into her womb. * * * *Megan's back arched off the bed, and she cried out softly. Her eyes flew open as she jerked herself into an upright position on the bed. A trembling hand covered her fast beating heart. Her eyes glanced around the bedroom. "The dream seemed so real." Feeling tingles all over her body, sweat coating her skin, she shook her head as she lay back down and inhaled a deep breath then slowly let it out. Rolling over onto her side she checked the time on the small alarm clock on the nightstand and groaned. It was only a half an hour before the alarm was to go off. Pushing the blanket to the side she stood. She arched her back before she turned to make the bed. Her body was still shaking from the latest dream, it was different then the others. This one was more intimate, more intense. She ran a hand along her face before stepping out to the bedroom and down the hallway and into the bathroom. She needed a shower to wash out the fogginess of her brain and to stop her body from trembling. First, she needed some coffee. Stepping out of the bathroom, she made her way toward the kitchen. She fixed the coffeemaker and waited for the coffee to brew while taking a mug out of the cupboard. She poured cream and sugar into the mug just as the coffee maker gurgled out the last of the coffee. Her fingers trembled as she poured the brew into the mug then took a sip. Her fingers were still trembling as she reached for the first cigarette of the day and lit it. "What does it all mean, those dreams?" she asked herself then let out a puff of smoke. * * * * TwoDaemon stood in the middle of the kitchen stared at the mess on the floor. "If you don't get that man out of my way--" Bob stopped abruptly. "As if I had anything to do with it," Steve spoke harshly. "It's your fault!" Bob nearly screamed out. Daemon began to shake his head. "I really don't care who started it, just clean up this mess and yourselves." When he had walked into the kitchen in the middle of the lunch rush, Bob and Steve were throwing food at each other. It was like a scene from a movie that he remembered seeing but couldn't recall the name. He wasn't too happy to have a messy kitchen. His hands rested on his hips and he walked out of the kitchen. His eyes wandered over the waitresses, they seem to be getting tired going from one table to another. Tilting his head to the side, he was thinking he needed to hire some more waitresses, making a mental note to place another to ad in the local newspaper. His eyes flew to the entrance when the door opened. Disappointment overwhelmed him when the person that entered the bar wasn't Megan. Turning away from the door he watched as Jon served drinks to the patrons seated along the bar. The beeper he wore at his waist went off; Daemon checked the number then stepped through the kitchen and into his office. Picked up the hand-held and made a call to Darr. "What do you have for me?" he asked when Darr's face appeared in the screen. "Megan was adopted as a newborn baby. Her parents were killed in an auto accident in the mountains, California Hot Springs to be exact. She has a sister but her whereabouts are unknown. Belinda was Megan's sister," Darr informed him. A sigh was heard through the hand-held. "Does Belinda even know she has a sister?" "No, she doesn't. I wanted to be sure of the facts before I told her." That's the reason why I keep having dreams about the Queen, they're sisters and she and Megan look so much alike, he thought silently. She is my mate, she must've done the mate search trance without knowing about it--but how could she have done it when only the males of our race are the ones who can do the trance? Daemon shook his head and turned off the device. He leaned back in the chair and rubbed his palms over his eyes. A deep moan passed between his lips when he straightened in the chair. He used his hands on the desk to push himself up and stood. Stepping through the kitchen and around the mess on the floor, Daemon made his way into the dining room. His eyes darted around the room, he didn't see Megan. He moved on silent feet to make his way behind the bar to pick up the newspaper. Daemon reached out to pick up the phone when he located the phone number and dialed.
