eBook Description: Being a romance author has a few perks but Carol Langley rarely gets to experience them. That is until she meets her sexy-hot summer neighbor Tom O'Brien and that's when things change. Tom is tall, dark, debonair and very sexual--something Carol didn't even realize about herself until she had the pure pleasure of experiencing Tom. Of course, after one night of passion, she's hooked and since Tom professed raw emotions to her, she assumes he is too. An assumption she made but didn't bother to check and see if the feelings were mutual. Almost as soon as Tom leaves her bed, he's on the lake with a busty little blonde and all but parading her around his front lawn. They aren't married. He has the right to see anyone he wants--and so does she. Carol quickly boards a plane bound for New York but things heat up quickly in First Class and a little romp is just what she needs to feel better about her Tom-Carol situation. That is, until things not only go haywire but they begin to unravel. A sexual conquest at the airport, bad decisions and bad dreams, a quick make-out and make-up session with Tom and fires ignite. Questions and more intrigue than any one mortal woman can stand--but what about the immortal man? Who is Tom O'Brien? Where did he come from and how does he know so much about his summer neighbor? And why does Carol find him irresistible?

She went out onto the deck and yelled below, "Clyde, tell Maude I'll be by there in about an hour. I have to call my agent then I'll get ready and be on my way."

He waved her off and nodded. He seemed to thoroughly enjoy his conversation with Tom.

The old geezer probably knows what he screwed up for me. She checked the front door to be sure it was unlocked in case Tom forgot something and came back in to get it. Maybe if she was lucky, he'd come on back to pick up where they'd left off. She could hope. Hell, after last night, she'd almost beg.

Carol grabbed some towels from the laundry room and headed to the shower. A few minutes later when she heard him sneak in, she wasn't really all that surprised. After all, a woman knows when she's given a man a good lay and she'd done her best so an encore seemed likely.

"I'm glad you didn't lock me out," he said as he joined her in the shower. "I know we don't have a lot of time," he started. "Maude will be waiting on you." His voice proved raspy as he taunted her with the ideas of more pleasure just by a simple gaze. His smile weakened her knees and just the anticipation of a first kiss made her mouth water.

Her insatiable hunger lingered and her eyes darkened. "Then let her wait." She pressed her body up against him and he moved his hands down her hips taking time to really feel the curves. His fingers touched and traced the outline of her hips with his gaze following every move.

She whispered his name telling him what she wanted from him and he wasted no time in entering her from behind. The palms of her hands went up against the wall as he thrust into her. It was sexy and provocative as the water ran down between them. White French-manicured nails scraped the tile as he drove her over the edge and she didn't give a damn if she broke one or all of them if he just kept her grating against the wall.
