"I can't say enough good things about Ms. Zenk's writing. Chasing Byron is a page turner of a book not only because of the engaging characters but also by the lovely prose. In fact, I read the entire thing in one day. Reading this book was a jolly fun time all through the eyes of Miss Woodhouse, yet also one that touches the heart. It was an experience I would definitely repeat. As this is Ms. Zenk's debut novel, I hope we will be delighted with more stories from this talented author in the future."--Orange Blossom,Long and Short Review

"This is a light and entertaining story. Mariah has grand aspirations for someone of her class and the guts to try and follow through. Walter is a sweet man and much stronger than Mariah realizes. She does realize that he is very attractive and a good kisser, but has to work through her infatuation to really see him. Byron is more of a caricature than a real person in this story, but Walter, Mariah, and the rest of the residents of the village are very real; kind of like Byron does not really belong and they all do. The storyline is easy to follow and the characters are well written and likable. I enjoyed this one."--Maura,CoffeeTime Romance

"This was an enchanting read. A small town girl longs for the bigger world of romance and excitement, only to overlook what's already there in front of her. Great job!"--Deanna,GhostWriter Literary Review

"Would you honor us with a song, Miss Millbanke?" Byron interrupted, motioning at the pianoforte and obviously on his very best behavior. He nearly seemed a completely different person in her presence.

Miss Millbanke blushed becomingly, pressing both hands to her flaming cheeks. "If you insist."

"I do." He lifted the part that covers the keys when not in use and pulled out the bench for her. "I shall even hold your music. Do you know any duets we can perform together?"

They settled on a song from a two-penny opera I had never heard of. It was almost magical watching them, dark heads close together, with the light glinting off Miss Millbanke's finery.

"Oh, they do make a fine pair," I whispered in awe.

Lady Caroline's sharp ears picked up the comment. "Watching them, I almost believe in George's professed affection toward her."

"He does seem quite taken," I agreed.

"It never lasts." Lady Caroline's words were heavy with all the wisdom she possessed on the subject. "I wish Auntie was a little more firm in her resolve to block an attachment between Annabella and George. Sometimes I fear even she is entranced by the thought of a Lord and famous poet as a son-in-law."

"If they do wed, I hope they are happy."

"Perhaps during their honeymoon," Lady Caroline conceded. "Though I greatly doubt there is anyone George loves more than himself. Poor Annabella will be competing with a very large ego if they do wed as he wishes."

"Cannot people simply be happy with one another?" I sighed, watching as the pair chose a second duet. "Why must there always be doubt on the horizon?"

"Because the wealthy rarely marry for love, my dear," she said. "I would eat my new bonnet if someone can prove to me that George is marrying for love instead of Annabella's dowry."

"How horribly pessimistic," I complained, propping my chin on my gloved fist. "Do you not have any happy thoughts, Lady Caroline?"

"Not with regard to that match." She nodded in the direction of Miss Millbanke and Byron. "I see nothing but trouble in their future. I only wish Annabella had been allowed to be naïve to the ills of the world a while longer before having them thrust at her all at once. Poor child. She may think her mind is decided, but she will regret her actions soon enough."
