eBook Description: When good and evil intertwine, taking one means accepting the other. When Wesley discovers a world inside his mind, he's offered more than just an escape from mental illness. He's given gifts of knowledge he carries back to the physical world--unaware that with the good, comes the bad. As knowledge builds Wesley's intellect and gives him the ability to heal sick friends, he's thrust into an evil contest, pitted against opponents who have trained their entire lives to kill. As Wesley fights for his life in two worlds, piecing together his mind and his heritage, the harder it becomes to distinguish good from evil. The greater his intellect, the more difficult his choices?and sacrifices. Content warning: violence (some graphic), Satan, strong language.

Henry returned to his office. Bobby followed Wesley into his room, where Wesley sat in his chair and stared at his feet. Bobby sat on the bed and waited. Silence was often the best way to encourage communication.
"I need to turn off Beth's light," Wesley finally said. He glanced at Bobby, then back down. "But I don't want to."
"What?"
"She'll be dead then."
"Look at me," Bobby said. "What are you saying?"
Wes shook his head without looking up. "She says someone else will hurt her if I don't."
"Who says?"
"Mom. They'll hurt her too, unless I take their lights."
"Look at me and tell me again. Tell me who you're talking about. I don't understand."
Wes shook his head. He still refused to raise his face.
Bobby felt his cheeks flush. What the hell was Lydia telling Wesley? Turn off Beth's light? It sounded like a bad colloquialism, a B-movie gangster plotting to rub someone out.
Wesley finally looked up. His eyes seemed to have sunk into their sockets. They showed a deep look of resigned sorrow, something Bobby never would have imagined Wesley could feel. Maybe Bobby was reading too much into the look.
"I want to sleep," Wesley said. "I need to sleep."
"Let's talk a little more, okay?" Bobby tried to sound soothing and calm while his insides burned with fury at what Lydia had done to Wesley in so short a time.
"I need to sleep. I want to." Wesley got up from the chair and, without making eye contact, lay on his bed facing the wall.
On his way out of the building, Bobby rushed past Henry's office without looking in. He couldn't risk a conversation. Henry would never agree to what Bobby had planned.
Fifteen minutes later, Bobby crossed the intersection with State Highway 653. He slowed to a crawl and pulled onto the right shoulder of US 11 so a white station wagon could pass. He pulled back onto the highway but didn't accelerate. The turn would be close.
