"You need to let your anger out, Lisa. We've talked about this before."

"I know, Dr. Griffith, I know." Lying on the couch, Lisa clasped her hands together over her chest--a classic defensive gesture--her tone that of a chastened little girl.

Dr. Griffith shifted in his plush leather chair, and repositioned his open notebook on his knee. "Tell me again why you first came to see me."

She stared up at the ceiling. "It was because of what happened in the kitchen with Dwight. My mother had invited the two of us over to dinner and--without checking with Dwight--I had told her we'd come.

"When he got home that night and I told him, he just blew up at me. He's not real fond of my mother, and he'd had a tough day at work. But instead of just standing there quietly and listening while he yelled, I felt this overwhelming urge to yell back.
