eBook Description: Attack of the Giant WereHand Shadow Puppet People From a Mysterious Blood Guzzling Planet in Another Dimension Beyond Our Galaxy at the Center of Time: Each year Scavenger's Newsletter runs the Killer Frog Contest for over-the-top horror and science fiction--a sort of Bulwer Lytton for short stories. This story, whose complete title is "Attack of the Giant WereHand Shadow Puppet People from a Mysterious Blood Guzzling Planet in Another Dimension Beyond Our Galaxy at the Center of Time," was 1994's winning entry. It's presented complete with its equally over-the-top cover letter.

IT crawled out of the Virginia swamps, slow and easy, like something plagiarized from an old Doors song. IT was big. Not so big as the World Trade Center, but a great deal larger than the sleepy little town IT desired to descend on. The town was Podunk; the locals, all descended from the same family stump, called it Dunk. Few could pronounce two syllable words unless they'd been to school, had lots of practice and read them off beer cans.
IT rose up on ITS hind thing-a-ma-bobs, glaring with a sullen, smoldering fury. From ITS mouth-like orifice, henceforth referred to as ITS mouth, IT drooled a slimy, putrescent, pulpy, nasty, smelly, yukky, kind of scummy stuff which people often find on the underside of their toilet bowls if they only clean them once a year and end up having to scrape it off with a blow torch while wearing an oxygen mask so they won't vomit.
