Black-eyed Susan hired me, not to throw a scare into her boyfriend, but to investigate the murder of her landlady. Apparently the human was found shot to death in her front yard and the cops shrugged and wrote it off as a drive-by. Since the woman wasn't cultivating poppies, the official story was a little hard to believe. She was a harmless old lady who tended her own garden. She wasn't the usual drive-by target.
