The Castle blamed itself for its master's death. If only it wasn't so old, if only it hadn't been sleeping when the grotesquely huge beanstalk had violated the delicate cloud upon which it rested. If only it had been awake when the tiny thief who climbed up the stalk had broken in and prowled the Castle's corridors in search of booty. If only it had prevented the thief from taking the master's harp and magic goose. If only.
