eBook Description: Young and powerful Vita Omnia, First Daughter and Royal Witch of the Queendom of Travéttica, has selected one of her twelve magic-restoring Vessels to become her life-mate. And not a moment too soon, as her Day of Achievement before the Royal Coven is fast approaching. Viral and strong, sexy and alluring, Bron D'Extrian has won Vita's heart, and she finally confesses her love to him. Like her Witch Mothers before her, she has chosen well, and with Bron at her side for life, Vita envisions future generations of formidable Witches and sagacious Warlock Advisors to successfully lead the largest country on the planet B'Atrani into future centuries. But rumors flourish that one of Vita's sisters, Lancine D'Olica, has eyes for the throne, intending to enslave all B'Atrani's mortals and conquer peaceful lands. To increase her magical potency, the scheming and rapacious Royal Witch even goes against the Laws in the Art of Legerdemain and partakes in the favors of non-approved Vessels. Before she discovers the plot, Vita is kidnapped and imprisoned. Unable to feed off her Vessels, her superior magical potency drains. But will Bron D'Extrian, along with Vita's other loyal Vessels, be able to gift her with superior strength before it's too late?

"4.5 Stars! Rated 'O' for 'Orgasmic' ... The Essence of Magic is nothing if not inventive. Okay, it's pretty HOT, too!! Paris Dixon creates a world where each Royal Witch is gifted with power untold through the regular supping from her Royal Vessels. This book is fun!! Ahh--to have a force of 12 men at my beck and call for any pleasure I require! Well, I guess that is why they call this a fantasy novel and what a great fantasy it is. Not to say there isn't more to the story, because there is. Ms. Dixon packs in mystery, political intrigue, a daring rescue and a wonderfully tender love story and rolls it all into one. It's fast paced and the sex is beyond HOT, but not gratuitous as the love of Vita and Bron is front and center always. This is my first novel of Ms. Dixon's and I believe I will be looking up her back catalogue to see what other treasures I can find."--Amber Taylor, Just Erotic Romance Review Newsletter
"4 Stars! ... A very original fantasy story! This one is a mixture of good versus evil, Royal Witches, and very hot sex. Add in a man with an uncertain past, and we have a winning combination ... Paris Dixon has done a wonderful job of mixing magic, danger and very hot erotica into one wonderful story. If you enjoy a mixture of good versus evil with some hot sex thrown in, you will definitely enjoy The Essence of Magic."--Chere, Romance Junkies "4 Roses ... Come to a world so vibrant and magical. This reviewer found this book was a wonderful story of magic, mystery, and ultimate good vs. evil. The plot was a fast-paced ride that makes you wonder what happens at the end of each page. The main characters were quite multidimensional and well rounded. They grabbed your attention from the beginning and didn't let go until the end of the book. Ms. Dixon did a phenomenal job in portraying this world, filled with mortals and witches. The mystery and ultimate battle of good and evil was a treat and gave the storyline added dimensions. This reviewer loved the different aspects of magic and the way the words flowed so smoothly. The interplay between Vita and Bron was fast-paced, yet the reader could feel the love that flowed between them. This book was set apart from others that this reviewer read, as it was a fantasy and set in a magical world. This reviewer was thrilled by the world Ms. Dixon created, and recommends this to others who want a magical world filled with romance, fantasies and mystery."--Dawn, Love Romances "4 Angels! ... The premise was interesting... The plot turns around the concept that treating people in a respectful and just manner engenders loyalty even under adverse conditions. Vita, the heroine, treats her Vessels respectfully and in return the Vessels, under the leadership of Bron, act to save her when evil overtakes her. The sex scenes are frequent and explicit ... The storyline is thought-provoking and rewarding in and of itself."--Jean, Fallen Angels Reviews

Bron D'Extrian propped himself up on his elbows. His face displayed a mixture of wonder and mystification. "You really do love me, don't you, Your Majesty?"
"Did you think I was lying earlier?" "You never lie. That much I have learned about you in all these months. I admire you for that, and so much more." He shook his head in disbelief. "Still, your declaration of love, it--it shocked me." "Why?" Vita asked. "Tell me." "I--I hardly feel I'm worthy of your love." "And what makes you unworthy?" "It's not like I've accomplished anything noteworthy in my short existence. I've not scaled mountains, slain fire-breathing rumbledons, invented an air-sailing device--I've done nothing except live my life as modestly and as honestly as I can." "And you think those traits are unimportant to someone like me?" She kissed her way down one of his hairy legs, enjoying the firmness of his muscles and the warmth of his skin beneath her lips. "Not at all. But you deserve--you deserve so much more. You are a Royal Witch, breathtaking to behold, and me--well--I'm just a humble Vessel." "Oh, Bron, you are so much more in my eyes." "I am?" "Yes, my love," she answered, bussing his ankle bone and teasing the sole of his foot with her fingernails. "You are an honorable, gentle, caring man. Intelligent and thoughtful. Humorous and sensitive. I've watched the way you respectfully treat others, how you counsel your fellow Vessels when personal troubles plague their souls, the way you play in the courtyard with the children of the Royal Coven every Worship Day, and the adoration your mere presence generates in their eyes. I could go on and on?" She kissed, then sucked each of his toes. "And you're as sexy as sin." His resultant smile went straight to her heart. "You will one day make a good husband, a good father--a good Witch Father." His eyebrows drew together in puzzlement. "What are you saying, Your Highness?" "First, that you cease calling me 'Your Highness' or anything formal." She started nibbling on his other leg, working toward his crotch. "I am Vita, and that is what you shall call me from this moment forward." "But that freedom is reserved for only--" Bron gasped. "You mean you want me--I am to be--" "That's right, my handsome love. I have selected you for my Sovereign Vessel. Do you accept?" "I--I'm speechless." She kissed her way to his mouth. "Then who needs words?" She pressed her lips against his. Their tongues explored and jounced in passionate harmony...
