eBook Description: When Banky says something that sounded voo-dooish and his partner Charlie disappears, us fellow-regulars of the Lucky Nickel Saloon, Second Ave, Wyoming Territory, are discombobulated to find Charlie shrunk to the size of cockroach and in the bottom of an empty gin bottle. We can get him out okay by upending the bottle, but to get him unshrunk, we have to repeat whatever got him there--backwards. Problem: Banky was drunk at the time and can't remember diddly.

Pop.
Charlie disappeared.
He'd been sitting at a table toward the back of the Lucky Nickel, his usual table, arguing with Banky. Then Banky said something that sounded Chinese, Greek or maybe Irish and--
Pop.
Charlie disappeared.
We found him quick enough. He was in a gin bottle on the table where he'd been sitting, an empty bottle, luckily, as Charlie couldn't swim. I imagine swimming in gin might be just as irksome as being disappeared, shrunk, and popped into an empty gin bottle. But since these things had never happened to me, I couldn't say for sure how Charlie felt.
He stood in the bottle, cupped hands to his mouth, and shouted something up. Everybody had become quite agitated when Charlie disappeared and even more so when they discovered him in the bottle. They were as noisy as a pugilist crowd, except for Banky who had passed out. I hushed everybody so I could hear. I cleared out some earwax with my little finger, bent to the bottle mouth and listened.
"Say again, Charlie."
"Get me out of here, Tom," he yelled.
