
He looked one hundred percent cowboy. With his denim shirt, black hat and black jeans, she had a hard time remembering what she was supposed to be doing. He looked too sexy for words. Too sexy to still be single. The grin that curved his lips said he knew what she was thinking. Darn him.
"It's never going to go away," he said quietly.
"What's not?"
"This attraction between us."
Kate tried to laugh that off, but it died in her throat as she realized he was right. Instead, she tried to pretend like it didn't bother her. "So."
"What do I make you feel, Kate?"
"Nothing." She looked away from Cord as she lied.
"That's not true. You came alive in my arms last night."
"That's because it's been a long time."
"Are you saying that if, let's say, Tim had kissed you, that you would've ended up half undressed on the couch?"
"Certainly not. I'm not easy."
"No, you're not. You're the most difficult woman I know."
"Then why do you keep bothering me?"
"Because I like to watch you tremble when I'm near."
