The closer Mac got to the water, the more he sensed another presence. A shiver of anticipation inched its way up his spine when he closed in on a quarry or if someone tried to ambush him. That shiver, in full force now, made him hope the noise of the falls would muffle the sound of his approach. He took no chances as he placed each footstep carefully, moving through the trees as silently as an Indian. Why not? he thought. After all, I am half-Indian. He saw a flash of white just as he reached the tree line at the edge of the pool. Peering through the trees at the waterfall, he saw what had triggered his senses. The ghostly apparition turned into a woman bathing.
A white flash of bare skin shimmered through the sluicing water. A curtain of dark hair shielded all but her long legs and saucy derrière. Struck immediately by the sight of her gorgeous body, his jaw dropped open, and he had to consciously shut it. He licked his dry lips and tried to compose himself. She wasn't a ghost. She was an angel. A surreal scene of flashing refractions of light from the sun on the spray of water surrounded her. A rainbow formed an arch, framing her exquisite body. He became mesmerized by the heavenly vision.
