Kathleen almost stopped breathing when she saw Michael without his shirt and in nothing but a pair of Levi's. Even his feet were bare and he looked like something right out of a magazine. He looked so rugged and well-built. Not the bodybuilder kind of build, just the in really good shape kind of build. There were muscles where there should be and not an ounce of fat to be seen. She felt a little dizzy. She also didn't know what to say. The sight of him rendered her speechless. Michael broke the silence. "I usually sleep in boxers no matter how cold. However, I think I can make do tonight."
Kathleen took her cue. She turned on the vanity light where the sink was, it wasn't inside the bathroom, and proceeded to brush her teeth. When she was done, she told Michael she got him a toothbrush and razor. She left it on the counter and said, "Goodnight, Michael. I'll see you in the morning." She turned off the light alongside the bed. The only light left in the room was the one with the sink. Michael said softly, so softly she almost didn't hear it. "Sweet dreams." He proceeded to the sink. A few minutes later, he turned off the light and crawled under the covers. But, he found he couldn't sleep. Just knowing Kathleen was a few feet away was enough to keep him awake. However, he did notice something--it was the first time ever he didn't feel lonely going to bed. And he never knew he was lonely going to bed before meeting Kathleen Davis. Now, he understood. This is what it must be like to be in love with someone and share the nights with them. Finally, he fell into a deep sleep.
