He took a deep breath and faced Sara once more. "In this case, I believe I have done more than just leave a few matters of importance out. I may have... misled you."

"Really? How?"

"By making it seem like our nanny problems have been nothing more than a string of bad luck." He glanced down at his desktop. "That's not exactly the truth."

She laughed--a light, throaty sound that took him by surprise, and pleasantly so. He found himself drawn to her, to those vibrant eyes. "If you're trying to tell me that the twins are rambunctious, don't bother. I've already figured that much out on my own."

"Oh, no. I wouldn't say rambunctious. That's too kind a term." He grimaced. "Rotten is more like it."
