eBook Description: Return again to the chase with intrepid detective and adventurer Dalton Quayle and his mate, er ... partner, er ... very close friend and nothing more, Doctor Humphrey Pemberton, as they again match wits, (or at least very strong words) with villains and scoundrels all across the globe. In this next adventure, Quayle and Pemberton race against time to recover the stolen Stones of Bukardi Brueaza before they can be used in a nefarious ceremony to summon the hideous (and overly ripe) Rimbulus creature, which would allow its summoner to take over the world, and cause quite a lot of other mischief besides. Meet an entirely new cast of supporting characters, (friends, enemies, casual acquaintances, and those wholly indifferent) among them the bullwhip- and hamfist-brandishing Harrison Wrong, and the evil Professor Siphilati. Gasp in awe and wonder as Quayle outwits deadly (and suspiciously familiar) traps and pitfalls, all the while managing to refrain from smacking the befuddled Pemberton. DQTDD has more pop culture references than a Warhol gallery showing and before you can say, "Please for the love of God, no more, my belly," Master of the Farce Paul Kane will have you laughing out loud and embarrassing yourself on the bus. IMPORTANT: Do not read while drinking milk.

"Dalton Quayle and master crime-solver Humphrey Pemberton are the next best thing to Sherlock Holmes and Watson. Unfortunately, between the two is an immeasurably massive gap. That said, they *do* manage to solve a few, despite their best efforts."--Don Muchow, Editor, "Would That It Were", The Internet's Premier Magazine of Historical SF

My Dear Pemberton,
I have been granted a few moments to compose a line or two before Professor Siphilati and I have a right go at each other on this precarious spot. Not really an ideal place for our ruckus...I did suggest we find somewhere a bit less wobbly, but Siphilati was adamant that I stand and deliver. I suspect it's not going to be a pretty or fair scrap, for one thing Siphilati tends to use the old boot in the groin tactic, so I'll have to watch out for that...But I digress. I am confident that I will be able to free society once and for all of his menace and people might again feel safe using the very fine public conveniences available to them in their local high-street. I fear, though, that this might be at a grave cost, one which will give pain to my friends, and especially, my dear Pemberton, to you. Still, nice day for it... Pray pass on my farewells to Mrs Hudsucker, would you? And tell her she has been the best housekeeper a man could ever wish for. Oh, and express to her my sincerest apologies again about that time when she caught me examining those etchings I keep hidden under my bed--you know the ones I mean. Take...Yes, yes--I'll be there in a minute, Siphilati! Have some patience, man, I've almost finished...Now where was I? Oh yes, take good care of yourself once I've gone, old boy. And one last thing before I toddle off: Remember to cancel my milk tomorrow... Very sincerely yours, Dalton Quayle. BA, MA, QED, Ph-5.5 PS: It is a far, far, greater thing that I do now than I have ever done...Come to think of it, there was that one time when...but that's not important right now. It is a far, far--yes, all right, I'm coming...
