
"No pictures," Lucky stated. "I'm not accepting the money."
"Yes, sir." Charli, the CEO, was already moving forward.
He had a feeling a hundred miles an hour was her resting speed. Wonder how it would feel to take that speed on one wild ride?
"Now, here's my assistant with the ceremonial check. And our photographer is right over here."
"No pictures," Lucky said a little louder. "I'm not taking the money."
Finally, it appeared his first statement filtered through her brain.
"It states clearly in the rules posted in the promotional material by the slot machine that playing the game--wait a minute. Did you say you weren't accepting the money?"
Lucky nodded. "That's right. I'm not taking the money."
He reached into the back jeans' pocket for his wallet. He flipped it opened and flashed his state credentials. "On behalf of the state of West Virginia, I'm filing an injunction with the gaming council to stop any more gaming in this casino from now until we get a judge's ruling. We've had reports you're running fixed machines. I want every slot in here tested as soon as possible."
Charli went from bemused to angry in the blink of an eye. She raked a scathing look over him. He had the feeling she had measured every inch of him and could probably make him a coffin. At the sparks flinging from her eyes, he didn't doubt she would've gladly wished him dead...
