"5 Angels! ... Delphyne DeRouge is the queen of short stories. In The Fire Inside she shows you so much romance and intense sex between Rose and Aleyn. He is pure sex and once again her hero male is strong, captivating and enticing. Anything Delphyne writes is definitely worth reading."--Ruby, Fallen Angels Reviews
"No other author makes me run to buy or read short stories like Delphyne DeRouge. Ms. DeRouge captivates her reader with Rose and Aleyn. Romance aplenty, in-depth and realistic characters and spine-tingling sensuality are found within this short story. The title speaks for itself and this author is known for her quality and powerfully written tales. Why anyone would want to miss out on a DeRouge masterpiece is beyond me! The Fire Inside packs a fiery punch and shows the great writing talents of one of today's best erotic romance authors."--Tracey West, The Road To Romance "It is beyond me how an author can pack so much emotions and hot sex into just a few pages but I do know that Ms. DeRouge is a goddess at doing just that. The Fire Inside is a sweet, very quick, romance about a woman who has help overcoming the pain of her marriage from a very unusual, very handsome man. Out of the blue he shows up and even though the story is short I fell in love with him just as Rose does. A wonderfully written, quick read, The Fire Inside has something for everyone, including the paranormal fans."--Vikky Bertling, Just Erotic Romance Reviews "5 Cups! ... A quick read that has a lot of emotion and steamy sex. Ms. DeRouge creates a charming story of a woman overcoming a bad marriage to become a woman who knows what she wants. How Ms. DeRouge was able to put so much feeling in so little words is amazing. The characters are realistic and come to life in this well written short story. I fell in love with Rose and Aleyn's story. I am without doubt looking forward to reading more works by Ms. DeRouge."--Cassandra Leigh Buckles, Coffee Time Romance "4 Hearts! ... One hot, intensive, very sexy and sensual story. It is amazing how much Ms DeRouge has packed into this short story. Her descriptions and imagery are very much alive. You are drawn into the story right away, totally captured and Ms DeRouge doesn't let you go until the end, which will leave you panting. Her characters are very well written. Rose is a woman who has been verbally abused and has very low self-esteem. Aleyn is a to-die-for hero who shows her how much of an attractive woman she really is. This reviewer highly recommends this short story and wished it could have been longer."--Valerie, Love Romances

Beside the water, bare-chested and magnificent, stood Aleyn.
He held out his hand to her. Without a thought, Rose walked to him, aware that a silk gown had replaced her sensible cotton garb, its diaphanous fabric billowing around her legs like white sea froth. Wonder filled her as she looked upon Aleyn. He seemed like a god, so extraordinary was his male perfection. Wisps of black hair drifted across his broad chest, which glowed like a shield. Below a trim waist, tight black slacks clung to muscular, long legs. "Welcome to my world, Rose." Aley''s rumble soothed her with its gentle tone. "I--I don't understand." "Listen to your heart song, Rose. And you will." As Rose lifted her gaze to his face, a flash of amber in the bright sun caught her attention. A heavy band of gold engraved with intricate Celtic knot work sheathed his arm where the tattoo had been. Her fingers brushed it before she could stop herself, its radiant surface sending a warm current down her arm. "What is this?" "A symbol of my race." "Celtic?" He chuckled. "I suppose that's one description for the Druiaghtagh you'd recognize." Suddenly aware of her boldness, she started to withdraw her hand. Strong fingers clasped hers. "No. Don't pull away. Not here." Rose shook her head in confusion. "What is this place?" Erotic prickling dotted her skin as it touched his. Craving built in her gut. She wanted this man more than she'd wanted anything in her life. All the while, a tiny corner of mind screamed, What are you doing? You can't trust someone you don't even know. Suddenly, Rose realized she didn't care that she knew nothing about Aleyn, nor where she was. Lust had overwhelmed her objective academic brain...
