Beside the water, bare-chested and magnificent, stood Aleyn.

He held out his hand to her. Without a thought, Rose walked to him, aware that a silk gown had replaced her sensible cotton garb, its diaphanous fabric billowing around her legs like white sea froth.

Wonder filled her as she looked upon Aleyn. He seemed like a god, so extraordinary was his male perfection. Wisps of black hair drifted across his broad chest, which glowed like a shield. Below a trim waist, tight black slacks clung to muscular, long legs.

"Welcome to my world, Rose." Aley''s rumble soothed her with its gentle tone.

"I--I don't understand."

"Listen to your heart song, Rose. And you will."

As Rose lifted her gaze to his face, a flash of amber in the bright sun caught her attention. A heavy band of gold engraved with intricate Celtic knot work sheathed his arm where the tattoo had been. Her fingers brushed it before she could stop herself, its radiant surface sending a warm current down her arm. "What is this?"

"A symbol of my race."

"Celtic?"

He chuckled. "I suppose that's one description for the Druiaghtagh you'd recognize."

Suddenly aware of her boldness, she started to withdraw her hand.

Strong fingers clasped hers. "No. Don't pull away. Not here."

Rose shook her head in confusion. "What is this place?" Erotic prickling dotted her skin as it touched his. Craving built in her gut. She wanted this man more than she'd wanted anything in her life.
