eBook Category: Horror
eBook Description: Headstones above empty graves litter Sarah Morgan's family tree. No matter how they died: drowning, car wrecks, soldiers in war, few left enough behind to warrant a coffin. In Sara's opinion this was an oddity, but nothing more. And then a close relative disappears in a pool of blood, an old man, like a harbinger of doom, appears on her doorstep, and she is dragged into a world of terror--where reality--as she knew it--no longer exists

A wordless whisper sighed from the closet.

A second shadow, larger than the first, began to wriggle across the floor.

"My 'magination. Just my 'magination." She swallowed hard, blinking back tears. "No such thing as a bogeyman."

All at once, the bedsprings creaked and a dull thud came from under the bed.

Her trembling lips clamped tight together, Lydia remembered her mother's advice. When you're scared in the dark, if you check out whatever's scaring you, you'll find it's nothing but a pile of clothes hanging over a chair, and not a monster at all.

Keeping the blanket about her tiny shoulders, Lydia scooted over to the side of the bed.

"Just my 'magination," she barely breathed, gathering the needed courage to peek under the bed.

Her delicate hands holding desperately to the mattress, she lowered herself, head first, beribboned pigtails hanging upside down, until her wide eyes just passed the box springs. For a moment she squinted, trying to see into the black emptiness under the bed. Realizing it was not empty, her eyes opened to their fullest and her mouth closed tight.

Twin points of slime-green, surrounded by glistening layers of yellow and blood-red, shimmered mere inches away.

Ghoulish, evil eyes.
