eBook Description: Becca yanked the card from the holder buried in the roses. A thorn caught her finger. With trembling hands, she raised her wounded finger to her mouth. The metallic taste of blood served as a reminder of her new reality. She read the card. Roses are red, violets are blue, I've told you twice, I want you. She closed her eyes, inhaled with a slow, calm, and relaxing breath. She exhaled through her mouth. She forced her hands to stop their nervous shaking. This made the third time roses appeared at her door with an unsigned card. The card's message didn't sound threatening so why do her nerves prickle with danger?

Becca sat down on the cold linoleum. Lightheaded and woozy, she rested her head on the cool porcelain. She'd passed out once in her life and she was close to that now. Her heart raced and her stomach rolled in a perverse race to see which could cause her the most distress. She tried desperately to concentrate on her body, to force it back under her control. Dylan. She needed to call Dylan. He would calm her down. He would know what to do. He would insist on going to the police. He'd wanted to Saturday. She pulled herself off the floor and washed her face. She brushed her teeth and walked to the phone, locking the apartment door as she passed. She picked up the phone and dialed. "Hey, what's up?" he asked groggily sleep still in his mind. "More flowers were delivered. The guy just left. Someone watched us at the park, Dylan. I'm scared," fear tinged her voice. Her breath came in quick bursts. She didn't want to be alone in the house anymore. "I'm on my way over. We are going to the police. I'm not taking no for an answer," he said, now fully awake. She heard the rustling of blankets. She was grateful. "Just sit tight. I'll be there in less than ten minutes." "I feel a little foolish." "Better to feel foolish than be hurt or dead. I'm coming right over."
