"Ready to call it good?" Carl asked, sweat dripping down his face.
Kara nodded. Her arms ached and her side throbbed where Carl had smacked her with the blunted blade. "Yeah. We can quit, for now." She laid her sword down on the polished wooden dining room table and started to strip off her protective gear. The cool air on her flushed, sweaty skin felt good. "You ready to tell me what was eating you earlier?" Kara sighed. Now that she finally had the opening she needed to ask her twin to help her, she wasn't sure if she should involve him. But then, well why not? It was mostly his fault that she needed his help. She shoved some loose strands of her hair back out of her face. Smart move on his part, waiting until now to pry into her statement in the kitchen after school. He probably thought she was too exhausted by this point to fight him. With another sigh, Kara straightened but didn't quite meet his glance. "I want to go back. I know what you'll say and I know it sounds insane. But even with everything that happened I want to go back to him." "To who?" "You have to ask?" She couldn't believe her brother sometimes. He just stared at her, a non-committal blank look on his freckled face. "Bedwyr. I want to go back to Bedwyr ap Breiddan."
