It was the threat of imminent castration that really distressed me. Up until then, I had maintained a stoic air of manly calm, and even made a few deft puns about my seemingly hopeless predicament. But the prospect of being emasculated, I confess, briefly unnerved me.
Only briefly, of course. Very briefly. So briefly that I doubt my evil captor noticed it. Only my admirably modern yet somehow classic masculine sensitivity compels me to admit, in retrospect, that I was--briefly, as I say--anxious about the prospect I suddenly found myself facing Mine is a steely courage which does not readily succumb to external pressure or tolerate internal wavering. Naturally, I bore with fortitude the discovery that I had been drugged and captured by the minions of my fiendish foe, Professor Phosphor. Of course, I behaved with grim courage as that villain laughed maniacally while I tested the strength of the chains that bound me. It goes without saying that I was mentally prepared to face any torture he devised for me, and physically prepared to endure any privation. Except, of course, for being castrated. I really hadn't taken that possibility into consideration when I accepted this mission, and I was now reviewing my options. "You have no options," Professor Phosphor advised me with a demonic sneer while his minions set up the menacing-looking apparatus which was about to force a whole new lifestyle on me. "What do you want?" I demanded.
