Being that close to her and not able have her is too much for me, he once told himself. He had once lived in the castle, as was his right as head warrior, but with May constantly around he decided to move out of the castle and into the barracks. Dev had given May her own rooms, and two weeks afterward Jaquay had moved into the barracks on the other side of the castle. As far away as he could get from her and still be close enough to take care of his responsibilities. He sighed as he placed the pouch with the earrings in a small wooden box with a smaller lock. He placed the box back on the shelf above his bed. He turned and looked at the door to his room. There she stood, smiling at him. Jaquay griped the doorway to his bedroom with both hands as he stared down at her with his blue eyes. His heart was pounding fast and he couldn't look away from her, just as she couldn't take her eyes away from him. May glanced away from him first. Jaquay stepped into the room with a grunt as he, too, looked away from her. He tucked his hands onto his black leather pants as he stepped toward the closet that was in the corner of the room. "What do you want?" Jaquay asked as he tucked his hands behind his back. "You." May said with a breathless sigh.
