On the cusp of celebrating Epiphany, light and revelation come to the forefront on this last Sunday of Christmas. Isaiah's proclamation of God's adornments is surely seen in the beautiful garments of Christmas celebrations throughout the world. The psalmist's invitation for the whole earth to sing God's praises reflects our joyous outbursts at the good news of Christmas. But, most of all, Galatians and Luke point to the fullness of salvation that was revealed and realized in Jesus' birth on this earth. Indeed, every fiber of our existence should exult in God (Isaiah 61:1)! Call to Worship (Psalm 148)
Hear the angels...
praising our God in the highest heavens!
See the sun and the moon...
shining with the glory of God!
Gaze upon the glittering stars...where God's wisdom gleams with pleasure.
Listen to the wind and the waves...
for they sing of the power of God!
Hear the creatures of the deep...
praising our God from the darkest waters!
See the animals of the earth...
singing praise with their mysterious sounds.
Gaze upon the majestic mountains...
where God's strength stands with dignity.
Listen to the storms of fire and rain...
cry with the awesomeness of God.
Young and old, women and men, sing with the earth.
Praise and glory, honor and joy belong to God!
Hallelujah for Christ has come! Call to Worship (Isaiah 61)
Rejoice in Christ Jesus, the beauty of God.
We sing of the One who clothes us with joy.
Rejoice in Christ Jesus, the light of salvation.
We worship the One who wraps us in grace.
Rejoice in Christ Jesus, the hope of new life.
We worship the One who blesses us with hope.
Rejoice in Christ Jesus, the One who is here.

This is a season of hope, a season of grace.
This is a day of new beginnings
when we celebrate the promise, begun with a child,
embraced by a man, and fulfilled in the Christ.
As we enter this new year, may this season
of hope and grace remain in our hearts
and call us to rejoice in the promise of the

Holy and loving God,
