eBook Description: Dan Carson had drifted for years, and now he was face to face with the end results, involving violence, murder and a woman--Gardia's mistress! He couldn't keep his eyes off Vicky Lopez. She became a personal fantasy from the moment he first saw her. And his desire was easily burst into a raging flame when she came to him with a desperate plea. She would do anything to get away from Gardia. All Dan had to do was take her away from the island and she would willingly be his! A dream or ... nightmare coming alive in her arms. For Gardia was not the kind of brute to let his prize trophy be touched by another man. He was known to torture and even kill a person for far less. And he didn't give a damn about the authorities--for he had them paid off! In Gardia's world nobody crossed him. And that's what Vicky wanted Dan to do--his fantasy to possess her was within reach! All he had to do was grab on and enjoy--or die trying!

Dan stood shivering in the darkness of the doorway, his guts churning like ice against his spine. There was a terrible sickness of cold sweat boiling over his trembling body. The black night around him was the only cover he had from Gardia's men. He could hear the sound of their feet clomping like hammers hitting hard rock, their low voices hissing on the hot night air. His hand inched into the right pocket of his pants, feeling the small stub-nosed .38, trying to find courage in its steel form for what he would have to do in the next few minutes. But you'll find no courage there, he thought angrily. You're a goddamned blasted coward and fool, Dan Carson! But he'd always been a fool for a sexy lady--especially one like Vicky Lopez. Such free spirited women were ideal one night stands--no complications.
